Protect Vital Childcare Businesses During Covid-19
Many childcare companies across the country have had to shut their doors due to the current coronavirus pandemic. Those that have remained open are often operating at loss in order to provide care services to the children of essential workers in their communities. And yet, the federal government's major economic relief package, the CARES Act, has failed to provide the necessary support needed to sustain all of these vital businesses.
We believe all childcare centers should be eligible for federal loan programs and aid right alongside restaurants, hotels and others.
That is why the team at the Early Care and Education Consortium (ECEC) have created a grassroots campaign for parents and families of young children to help advocate for private early education providers with more than 500 employees in the U.S.
But ECEC needs your help to get the word out.
ECEC has provided a grassroots toolkit for childcare businesses with 500+ employees to pass onto their parents and families which includes important components of their campaign.
The most important component of the campaign is the parent email/letter template which can be downloaded below. This communication will be essential in engaging the families you serve and driving our message to Congress. It will lead families to the campaigns landing page here and explain how they can get involved.
The ECEC has also provided a key messaging and proof points document for your internal use to help develop further communications for the campaign, as needed. You can download this document below.
Also attached below are two template “plug-ins” for your use in email communications and your website to amplify the campaign. If you do use these assets, please link them to the URL below so the ECEC can track traffic from your site to their landing page: http://www.ececonsortium.org/advocacy/takeaction/?utm_source=PARTNER&utm_medium=WEBLINK&utm_content=Protect&utm_campaign=Protect
We hope you’ll join us in protecting vital childcare businesses by enlisting the families you serve and urging Congress to deliver the necessary financial assistance needed for all serving our industry to survive this challenging time.
