Articulating Your Preschool USPs to Build Enrollment

To host an impactful center tour, it’s important that staff are trained on the school’s unique selling points, or USPs. Making sure your team can articulate at least one or two USPs, specifically regarding classrooms, curriculum, and teachers, will ensure that your messaging is consistent and memorable. Consider a few of the below USP examples below to help your team to get started!

Classroom USPs

  • Emphasize a new program: “We’ve recently added an outdoor classroom to our curriculum. We think it’s so important for children to spend as much time outside as possible.”

  • Showcase your ability to meet the interests of individual children and groups: “Miss Maria joined us last year and heads up our embryology unit. We can’t wait for the chicks to hatch.”

  • Highlight foreign language offerings: “We offer Spanish immersion taught by Ms. Mercedes each morning as part of our morning meetings.”

Program USPs

  • Highlight your longstanding status in the community: “We’ve been in Charlottesville since 1984—one of the longest operating childcare brands in the area.”

  • Share which neighborhoods your families live in to help new families to the area: “Most of our children live in local neighborhoods like Elwood and Farmstead.”

  • Let parents know which kindergarten programs your graduates will attend: “Most of our Pre-K children attend Kellogg Elementary School for kindergarten. Henry will have plenty of friends at the bus stop and lunch table.”

Teacher USPs

  • Highlight a fantastic teacher: “Miss Margaret has a Montessori background and has been with us for twenty years. Her grandson attended our school.”

  • Brag about your team: “Our staff have 138 years of combined experience.”

  • Highlight the teacher and his/her education, tenure and special skills: “Mr. Tom is a musician and brings his guitar to school each day. He’s a regular Pied Piper!”

Getting your staff comfortable with greeting tours and articulating these strengths will go a long way in building lasting enrollment at your childcare business.
