Early Childhood Teachers in Need Get a BOOST From New Non-Profit
In an effort to give back to early childhood teachers across the United States, HINGE Early Education Advisors has launched BOOST, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide financial support for early educators in crisis. This includes qualified teachers who are struggling to afford necessary home repairs, medical bills for themselves or family members, or other personal expenses that can create a financial hardship.
As the nation’s foremost expert in growing and selling childcare businesses, HINGE is run by a team of longstanding industry leaders who aim to help create stability in the lives of educators through this new charity.
“Early childhood teachers dedicate their lives to enriching the hearts and minds of children, oftentimes while bearing the emotional and financial burdens of their own lives. That’s why BOOST was born,” says Kathy Ligon, Founder and CEO of HINGE Advisors. “We are rallying the community both within and outside of the early learning industry to help provide much-needed support for these deserving individuals.”
BOOST provides financial assistance for:
Home crises, such as hardships related to natural disasters, flooding, or fires; eviction prevention or utility assistance; and food insecurity
Health crises, such as hardships related personal trauma or domestic abuse; medical bills; and funeral costs for an immediate family member
“With BOOST, we are starting a movement to help early educators that’s not specific to any one state or any one provider. We are focused squarely on helping as many teachers as we can,” says Kate Hubschman, Executive Director of BOOST. “Early learning teachers show up for children and families every day. This is an opportunity to show up for them when they need it most.”
The non-profit is actively seeking donors to join our BOOST Founders Circle when you give in 2024. Current Founder Circle members include HINGE Advisors, Better Beans Branding, The Nest School’s Gerry Pastor and Jane Porterfield, The Joyful Jungle’s Racheal Flanagan, Advisory Board Member Whitney Carper, and HINGE team members Alec Ligon, Rich Hubschman, Chirag Patel and Henry Tiberi.
Helping to launch and grow the non-profit, BOOST Advisory Board members include:
Michelle Smith Lank, Owner and Director, Kids World Learning Center
Zubeen Saeed, President and CEO, Building Blocks Learning Centers
James Emch, Former CEO, Valley Child Care and Learning Centers
Thad Joiner, Founder and CEO, Better Beans

“With a difficult cost structure that includes a minimum of 55-60% of all tuition dollars spent on staff costs, it's no secret that the fundamental business model for early education is challenging,” says Ligon. “As we stand alongside childcare business owners to support early childhood teachers, BOOST is here to help continue the cycle of caring.”
